“A welcome win for David Moyes at Loftus Road midweek but he really needs a Premier League win to kick-start the Black Cats season,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Palace were poor at St Mary’s midweek but I like this Eagles’ side who are, arguably, better on the road and it could be another long afternoon for the Sunderland faithful.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Palace to win at 31/20.”

Sunderland are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just a point from five matches.

The Black Cats are in serious danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

David Moyes’s side will head into the match against Palace on the back of a 2-1 victory over Championship club Queens Park Rangers away from home at Loftus Road in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Meanwhile, Palace currently find themselves eighth in the standings with seven points from five matches.

The Eagles will head into the game against Sunderland on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the third round of the EFL Cup.
