Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that West Ham United will fail to win against Crystal Palace at home this week.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker has predicted the Hammers to lose to London rivals Palace at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Tuesday evening.

Owen wrote on Betvictor.com: “Palace have only won one of their last nine Premier League away London derbies, but they have only lost one of their last five away games against West Ham and I feel they might come away from the London Stadium with all three points.

“The Hammers were dumped out of the FA Cup at Wigan on Saturday whilst the Eagles had a rare weekend off and they should be fresher than their hosts who played a strong enough side at the DW Stadium.

“Luka Milivojevic has scored in each of his last three PL away games and no Palace player has yet scored in four successive away games in the division.”

A footnote added: “Tip: Palace to win and both teams to score at 17/4.”

West Ham did lose to Wigan Athletic away from home at the DW Stadium in the fourth round of the FA Cup at the weekend, but the Hammers’ form in the Premier League in recent weeks is pretty good.

Palace’s form has also improved, and Tuesday’s match at the London Stadium between the Hammers and the Eagles promises to be an intriguing encounter.

The Hammers, though, should head into the game with confidence, and despite their recent injury problems, they could well end up with all three points.

West Ham are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 24 matches, while Palace are currently 13th in the standings with 25 points from 24 games.
