Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Tottenham Hotspur will pick up a point from their game against Real Madrid this week.

Tottenham will take on Madrid at the Wembley Stadium in London in Champions League Group H on Wednesday evening.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid last month.

Owen has backed Mauricio Pochettino’s side to pick up a point from the encounter against Los Blancos at home.

“Gareth Bale is unlikely to be fit to face his old club at Wembley having missed the reverse fixture and the Whites’ 2-1 defeat to newly-promoted Girona at the weekend,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“A draw was a fair result in the Bernabeu and I think Spurs can pick up another valuable point en route to the knock out stages with Borussia Dortmund on the back foot following their draw in Nicosia on Matchday 3.”

Madrid have one of the strongest teams in Europe and are among the top favourites for the Champions League this season.

Zinedine Zidane’s side have won Europe’s premier club competition for the past two seasons, and they are doing quite well in the group stage at the moment.

However, Madrid’s league form is not great at the moment, and Tottenham will fancy their chances of winning the match on Wednesday evening.

One should not be surprised if Spurs win 1-0 or 2-1.
