Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Tottenham Hotspur will win against Borussia Dortmund this week.

Tottenham will take on Dortmund at the Wembley Stadium in London in Champions League Group H.

“It is well documented that Wembley hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for Spurs but they are taken to right that wrong against a Dortmund side who were too good for the PL outfit in the Europa League two seasons ago,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“It is about time, however, Spurs made Wembley a fortress and what better game to start a sequence of wins than against a very good Bundesliga outfit.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Spurs to win at 13/10.”

Tottenham failed to progress past the group stage of the Champions League last season and did not play well.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are not going to find it easy this time around either, with Spanish and European giants Real Madrid also in the group.

Spurs’ record at Wembley in European games is not great. Moreover, Dortmund are a very strong team and have some wonderful players.

For Tottenham to finish in the top two of the Champions League Group H this season, they need to win their home matches.

However, given the strength of Dortmund’s team and Spurs’ performances and results at Wembley so far this season, the North London outfit may have to settle for a point from Wednesday evening’s encounter.
