Sunderland and Arsenal will face each other in the Premier League this weekend.

Arsenal's Theo Walcott

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Theo Walcott will score for Arsenal against Sunderland this weekend.

Arsenal will take on Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Owen has backed England international Walcott, who can play as a forward or as a winger, to find the net during the match.

The former Newcastle United striker has also suggested that Sunderland will get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Black Cats are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just two points from nine matches.

“Sunderland have won just one of their last 25 PL games against Arsenal and I can’t see them bucking that trend against a Gunners side who will be disappointed they were unable to break down a resilient Boro side last weekend,” the Englishman wrote on Betvictor.com.

“The Black Cats (two points) have made the worst start to a PL season after nine games since Sheffield Wednesday (1) back in the 1999/2000 season and hard to see any Great Escape this term.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Walcott to score anytime at 21/20.”

Walcott has been playing well for Arsenal this season, but he may not start against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon as he has a minor hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old has scored five goals and created 10 chances in nine Premier League appearances for the Gunners so far this campaign.

The England international attacker has scored three goals and created two chances in two Champions League games for the North London outfit so far this season.
