Former Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Sunderland will fail to win this weekend.

Sunderland will face West Bromwich Albion at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

“Sunderland have made their usual wretched start to a PL season and they are now without a win in their last 25 PL games in August/September,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“October begins with a game that looks very winnable on paper but football isn’t played on paper and the Baggies will also be thinking this is a game they should get something from.

“It is likely to be close, tight and short on quality with both sides having to settle for a point.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Draw at 11/5.”

Sunderland are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

David Moyes’s side have picked up just a point from six matches so far this campaign and currently find themselves at the foot of the table.

The Black Cats will head into the match against West Brom on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at home in the league.

Meanwhile, West Brom are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with eight points from six matches.

The Baggies are in decent form at the moment and will head into this weekend’s game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Stoke City away from home at the Bet365 Stadium in the league.

Tony Pulis’s side have won only one of their last nine away games in the Premier League.
