Southampton and Newcastle United will face each other in the Premier League this weekend.

Newcastle will return to action in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon when they take on Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium.
The Magpies will head into the match against the Saints on the back of a 1-1 draw with Liverpool at St. James’ Park in the league.
The performance of Rafael Benitez’s side against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool was very encouraging, but former Newcastle striker Owen does not expect them to win against Southampton.
The former England international striker believes that the match between Southampton and Newcastle on Sunday afternoon will finish in a 1-1 draw.

“Southampton have failed to score in eight of their last nine PL games at St Mary’s and I am surprised they are such short-priced favourites against a Newcastle side who looked well organised and disciplined when getting a point at home to Liverpool last time,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Newcastle Double Chance – draw or win at 20/21
“Michael’s correct score prediction: Southampton 1 – 1 Newcastle.”

Newcastle are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 10 points from seven matches, just three points behind fourth-placed and defending champions Chelsea.
As for Southampton, the Saints are currently 12th in the standings with eight points from seven games, three points above the relegation zone.
