Michael Owen has said on BT Sport 1 (2:27pm, December 13, 2021) that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will win against Inter Milan in the Champions League last 16 this season.

Liverpool have been drawn against defending Italian champions Inter Milan in the last-16 stage of the Champions League.

The Reds were drawn against RB Salzburg initially before the draw had to be done again.

Former Liverpool striker Owen backed the Reds to win against Salzburg.

And the former England international believes that Liverpool will get the better of Inter over two legs in the Champions League last 16 tie.

Owen said: “I think that Liverpool are still clear favourites for that one. As much as they will be slightly disappointed with the draw, I don’t think they will totally throw the toys out of the pram because they should go through.”

Liverpool favourites?

In our opinion, Liverpool will head into the tie against Inter Milan as favourites.

The Reds have some of the best players in the world, including Mohamed Salah, Alisson and Virgil van Dijk.

Moreover, the first leg will be played in Milan and the second leg will be held at Anfield.

That will certainly give Liverpool the advantage over Inter.

However, we do not think that Inter should not taken lightly.

The Nerazzurri are the defending Italian champions and are doing well at the moment.

Inter are a point clear at the top of the league table at the moment and will be determined to win against Liverpool.
