Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Harry Kane will score for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

Tottenham will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Burnley at the Wembley Stadium in London in the Premier League.

Owen does not see the Clarets picking up all three points from the encounter, but the former England international striker has backed Kane to score.

The 24-year-old England international striker has yet to score for Spurs in the Premier League this season, but the star has played well and has hit the frame of the opposition goal.

“Spurs played their part in a cracking game at Wembley last weekend and I can’t see Burnley repeating their Matchday One capital heroics when they won at Stamford Bridge,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“The Clarets came back down to earth against West Brom at Turf Moor last weekend, and Harry Kane has his last opportunity this year to score his first PL goal in the month of August – he won’t have many better opportunities.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Kane first goal scorer at 23/10.”

Burnley won against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their opening game of the Premier League season, and Sean Dyche’s side will be determined to at least pick up a point at Wembley.

One suspects that the Burnley players will be looking to step up their game due to the match being played at Wembley, but given the quality they have in their team, Spurs will head into the encounter as firm favourites.
