West Ham United are struggling in the Premier League at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

The Hammers are 15th in the league table at the moment with 33 points from 31 matches, just five points above the bottom three.

Slaven Bilic’s side have lost their last five league fixtures and are struggling at the back.

The London club will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on fellow relegation candidates Swansea City at home.

West Ham will have to pick up all three points at the London Stadium in order to pull away from the bottom three, but it is not going to be easy.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted that the Hammers will fail to win against the Swans this weekend.

Owen believes that if West Ham do not score early against the Welsh outfit, then things could get nervous for them.

“The Hammers have lost their last five in the Premier League and you have to go back to March 2010 for the last time they lost six on the spin,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“If the Hammers are not already in a relegation battle they certainly will be if they don’t pick up at least a point from the visit of Swansea who must be gutted not to have picked up a point from their game against Spurs earlier in the week given they led after 88 minutes.

“If Slaven Bilic’s side don’t score early, it could easily be a tense, nervous affair for the home supporters.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Swansea to either win or draw (double chance) at 7/10.”
