Michael Owen has picked his ideal Premier League five-a-side team, consisting of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City stars.
Who would make your ideal Premier League five-a-side team?
This was a question raised by former England international Michael Owen yesterday, who selected key players from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea into his side.
He wrote on his SportLobster page: “With no live football today how about we pick our best Premier League #fantasy5aside.
“I’m going with a 1-1-2 formation of Courtois, Kompany, Hazard, Sanchez and Aguero. What’s your best line-up?”
Owen received a number of responses, with David de Gea and Diego Costa the names touted the most who he had left out.
| Team | Goals | Assists | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sergio Agüero | Man City | 14 | 3 |
| Alexis Sánchez | Arsenal | 9 | 2 |
| Eden Hazard | Chelsea | 5 | 1 |
In his three front players however, even without Costa, there are three players who have demonstrated their skills with a combined 29 goals between them in the Premier League alone this season. Costa is one behind Aguero on 13.
The team would have a clear advantage over one Wayne Rooney picked a month ago, selecting only Manchester United players – but with nobody in goal.
The Mirror reported: “Do you have to have a goalkeeper? If not, I’ll go for Angel [Di Maria], [Radamel] Falcao, Robin [van Persie] and [Juan] Mata.”
