Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that the match between West Ham United and Southampton will have at least three goals.

West Ham will face Southampton at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

“The Hammers are struggling for form and only limped past Accrington Stanley midweek in the League Cup after their heavy defeat at the Hawthorns last weekend,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Saints have only scored four times in their five PL fixtures so far this season, but they could easily have had five or six against Swansea last weekend and this is a game where I expect to see goals.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: over 2.5 goals at 19/20.”

Both West Ham and Southampton are attack-minded teams, and there is a very good chance that there will be a number of goals in the match.

The Hammers have looked vulnerable defensively this season, and they are likely to concede at least once against the Saints.

It should be a very competitive game, though, as both West Ham and Southampton desperately need the win.

Slaven Bilic’s side are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with just three points from five matches.

Southampton have managed to pick up only five points from as many games so far this season.

The Saints have scored only four goals in the Premier League so far this campaign.

West Ham have scored in each of their last 13 home league games, netting at least twice on nine occasions.
