West Ham's Andy Carroll reacts

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on Betvictor.com that Andy Carroll will score for West Ham United against Leicester City this weekend.

West Ham will face Leicester at the London Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

England international striker Carroll is likely to start for the Hammers against the Foxes. Former Newcastle striker Owen has predicted the 28-year-old to score against Leicester.

“Andy Carroll is one goal away from a half-century of PL goals and I remain a big admirer of the striker; he can give the Foxes plenty to think about,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Carroll to score anytime at 11/8.”

Carroll has scored six goals and created nine chances in 14 Premier League appearances for West Ham so far this season.

The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker is playing well at the moment, and he will be confident of finding the net against Leicester.

The Hammers are not in good form. Slaven Bilic’s side have lost their last two Premier League matches and have not won in four league fixtures.

Meanwhile, Leicester find themselves 15th in the Premier League table at the moment with 27 points from as many matches.

The Foxes are still in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, but their performances and results have improved in recent weeks.

Craig Shakespeare’s side have won their last three matches in all competitions, including a 2-0 victory over Sevilla at the King Power Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie.
