Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are in action later this evening. While the Gunners will face London rivals West Ham United at home in the Premier League, Tottenham will take on relegation candidates Swansea City in Wales.

Arsene Wenger’s side are fighting for a place in the top four this season. Winning against the Hammers at the Emirates Stadium is a must if they want to play in the Champions League in 2017-18 campaign.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are aiming to catch Chelsea at the top of the table. A win at the Liberty Stadium will see Spurs trim the gap between themselves and the Blues to just four points if Antonio Conte’s side lost to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge this evening.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has given his predictions of the Arsenal and the Tottenham games.

Owen expects the Gunners to pick up all three points against the Hammers and has backed the Swans to earn a draw against Tottenham at the Liberty Stadium.

“Swansea have never beaten Spurs in the Premier League but I feel they will pick up a point at the Liberty,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Both sides have scored in all five previous PL meetings between the clubs and I expect that trend to continue midweek.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Game to finish 1-1 at 7/1.”

“If Burnley are in danger of getting embroiled in a battle to avoid the drop the same can also be said of West Ham who have now lost more points (20) from winning positions than any other side in the division following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Hull on Saturday,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“The Hammers won this fixture, on the opening weekend of the campaign, last season but that was their only win at the home of the Gunners in their last 17 league visits. I expect to see a home win.

“Andy Carroll has now played 90 minutes in four successive league games for the first time in three years – his goal at the KCOM was his 50th in the Premier League. Congrats on reaching the landmark and if he stays fit he can certainly go on to join the 100 club.”

A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Arsenal to win and both teams to score at 31/20.”
