Jordan Pickford has joined Everton from Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

Former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker Michael Owen has predicted on PremierLeague.com that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will be the young player of the season in the Premier League.

Pickford has joined Premier League club Everton from Championship side Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

As stated on the Toffees’ official website, the Merseyside outfit had to pay the Black Cats a transfer fee of £30 million in order to secure the services of the 23-year-old.

The former England Under-21 international was one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League last season and played well for Sunderland, who got relegated from the top flight of English football.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen has predicted Pickford to be the best young player in the Premier League during the 2017-18 campaign.

“Jordan Pickford will be in the limelight this season following his move from Sunderland to Everton that made him the most expensive British goalkeeper in history,” Owen told PremierLeague.com when asked who the young player of the season will be.

Pickford is a very good young player, but the Everton goalkeeper will face competition for the award from Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli.

The 21-year-old is one of the best midfielders not only in England but in entire Europe, and has won the the PFA Young Player of the Year award for the past two seasons.
