Alexandre Lacazette has joined Arsenal from Lyon in the summer transfer window.

Former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Michael Owen has predicted on PremierLeague.com that Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette will be the top scorer in the Premier League this season.

Lacazette has joined Premier League club Arsenal from French outfit Lyon in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, the Gunners had to pay the Ligue 1 side a transfer fee of £46.5 million in order to secure the services of the France international striker.

The 26-year-old has arrived at the Emirates Stadium with a strong reputation, and Owen has backed the striker to become the top scorer in the Premier League this season.

Alexandre Lacazette reacts during training session at Birds Nest on July 21, 2017 in Beijing, China.

“Alexandre Lacazette is a proven goalscorer,” Owen told PremierLeague.com when asked who the Golden Boot winner will be this season.

“He had the highest chance conversion rate in Europe’s top five leagues last season and Arsenal create plenty of chances, so he should get plenty of opportunities.”

Michael Owen celebrates during the Star Sixe's match between England and Spain in the at The O2 Arena on July 13, 2017 in London, England.

Lacazette is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, and the former Lyon star will be one of the favourites to win the topscorer’s award this season.

With quality and creative players such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez around him at Arsenal, the Frenchman will get chances, and given his record at Lyon, he should be able to score quite a few goals for Arsene Wenger’s side.
