Trent Alexander-Arnold has been a revelation under Jurgen Klopp during these past few seasons as the Liverpool defender is arguably the best right-back in the world, at this moment in time.

Michael Owen has praised the ‘phenomenal’ Trent Alexander-Arnold after he helped Liverpool secure a 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring for Liverpool inside 15 minutes when he scored a brilliant free-kick from the edge of the area as his strike was too good for Arrizabalaga in between the sticks.

Chelsea thought they had equalised not long after, but VAR ruled the goal offside, with Roberto Firmino going up at the other end and scoring straight away – N’Golo Kante did pull one back in the second half.

During the game, former Reds striker Owen stated on his personal Twitter account that he ‘loves VAR’, as he also reacted to Alexander-Arnold’s goal.

Alexander-Arnold has come from strength to strength during these past two seasons and it could be argued that he is the best right-back in the world, at this moment in time.

There’s no arguing that Alexander-Arnold himself and his fellow teammate, Andy Robertson, are the best fullback pairings in the world.

Nonetheless, Jurgen Klopp’s side remain top of the Premier League table after six games, as they have a 100% record and are five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City.

Whilst Pep Guardiola’s side were beaten last week by Norwich City, they responded in an emphatic fashion by thrashing Watford 8-0 on Saturday.
