Michael Owen told Premier League Productions that even though Harry Kane isn’t skillful or quicker than others, the Tottenham striker still has a ‘genius footballing brain’.
Tottenham’s main man became the first man this season to score ten goals and supply ten assists, which is quite an achievement from the centre-forward.
Added with the defensive work Kane is producing whilst dropping deep into midfield, he is perhaps one of the most complete players producing the goods in English football today.
Owen lauded the England captain and explained why he is different to others even though he’s not bursting down the wing or putting opposition defenders on their backside with a trick.
“It’s underestimated as well in terms of a football brain,” said Owen. “What separates the great from the good?
“Harry Kane is he quicker than anyone else? No. Has he got more skill? No. What separates these great players from others? It’s footballing intelligence.
“A football brain. Making the right decision. Spotting things before they happen and anticipation. You go through your career playing with what 400 players or something in my career. But I could count only 20 or 30 that are right on the sharp end of having almost a genius footballing brain.”

There aren’t many players in the Premier League who can stand up and match Kane in regards to being that complete player.
Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne is one who can adapt to many situations. Everyone is aware of his ability to create, score goals, but he also has this underrated ability when winning the ball back from a defensive standpoint.
Plus, during Man City’s win at Chelsea on Sunday, he was used as a number nine by Pep Guardiola, as the both the Belgian and Kane are two of the best in the league
