Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing FC Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele. But supporters already have their doubts.
According to Goal, the Toon are eager on the France international. Dembele’s contract with Barcelona ends in 2022, and it is likely that the attacker will depart the La Liga giants.
As per the report, Dembele is open to a move to Newcastle. With the winger even being offered a five-year deal with the Premier League club worth 12.6m-a-season.
Whilst there’s no denying Dembele’s talents and playing ability, the attacker has struggled for regular fitness since joining Barcelona in 2017 from Borussia Dortmund.
Indeed, the 24-year-old has missed an astonishing 96 games and counting over the past five seasons with the Catalan side. And with his contract expiring this summer, Barcelona are keen to cut their losses.
And Newcastle seem to be genuine suitors for Dembele. However, their status in the Premier League will be a key factor to if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner wants to join them next summer.
