The Rangers hitman has been in decent form for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Northern Ireland boss Michael O’Neill spoke exclusively to the Daily Mail about Kyle Lafferty’s return to Rangers, and offered high words of praise for the striker, suggesting that he will go on to become a big player for Steven Gerrard’s side.
Gerrard brought the 31-year-old back to Ibrox from Hearts in August, and he has made a decent start to his second spell with the Gers, scoring two goals in three Scottish Premiership appearances thus far.
The Glasgow giants have made a decent start to life under Gerrard, losing just one competitive match so far this season, and many fans and pundits alike are tipping them to make a real push for the league title.
O’Neill believes that Rangers can go on to achieve a successful campaign, and he backed Lafferty to play a key role in his side’s season, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail:

“I know Kyle Lafferty is in a really good place right now. Hearts was the right move at the right time for Kyle but his ambition has always been to get back to Rangers. If you had given Kyle a choice of where in the world he wanted to play his football, there would be no other place for him than Rangers. Now he is back at Ibrox I do see a boy that is content, focused and hungry to make the most of it. Kyle definitely has the potential to be a really big player for Rangers – in Europe as well as domestically.”
Next up for Rangers is their Europa League clash with Villarreal tomorrow night, and they will need Lafferty to be on his very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of returning to Glasgow with a positive result to show for their efforts.
