Michael O’Halloran confirms he was training on his own at Glasgow Rangers

Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers forward Michael O’Halloran has left after being deemed surplus to requirements by Pedro Caixinha.

Michael O’Halloran has confirmed to BBC Sport that he was training on his own while with Glasgow Rangers.

O’Halloran left Ibrox to join St Johnstone on loan earlier this summer, after what was a testing pre-season for the striker.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha decided that the 26-year-old had no future with his side, and completely ostracised him from the group.

O’Halloran was forced to train on his own, which has left him short of match sharpness.

And the forward is delighted to be back training with a group, after completing a move to St. Johnstone.

“The last game I started was in January,” O’Halloran said. “I haven’t done a lot of training sessions and pre-season has been on my own as well.

“It was good to get training with the boys again and get some minutes on the pitch on Saturday, which was important as well going into the season.”

O’Halloran only joined Rangers last year, but he already appears to have no future at Ibrox.

The striker struggled to find any sort of form in Glasgow, with his performances falling below par.

O’Halloran has previously had success with St. Johnstone, and will be hoping to re-find his top form again over the coming campaign.
