Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers sent Michael O’Halloran out on loan from Ibrox to St Johnstone in the summer transfer window.

Michael O’Halloran is still technically a Rangers player, but it is hard to see the 26-year-old play again for the Gers while Pedro Caixinha is in charge of the Ibrox outfit.
O’Halloran joined Rangers from St Johnstone in February 2016 when Mark Warburton – now at Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England – was the manager for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £500,000.
Much was expected of the former Scotland Under-21 when he arrived at Ibrox, but the ex-Bolton Wanderers prospect has failed to make a massive impact for the Gers so far.
Although the 26-year-old forward played well for Rangers in the second half of the 2015-16 campaign and helped them get promoted from the Scottish Championship, he struggled to feature regularly for the Gers in the Scottish Premiership last season.

O’Halloran returned to his former club St Johnstone on loan from Rangers until January, with Rangers manager Caixinha subsequently telling The Daily Record that the Scotsman is not his type of player.
The forward’s current contract at Rangers runs until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk, but if Caixinha remains in charge of the Gers, then it is hard to see him play for the Glasgow giants again.
O’Halloran, though, does not regret moving to Rangers, but will he return to the Gers when his loan deal at St Johnstone runs out in January?

“I think we will probably cross that bridge when we come to it in January when the loan is over, but his comments weren’t great were they, so we will see,” O’Halloran told Sky Sports when asked if he could see himself returning to Rangers when his loan spell at St Johnstone ends.
“He has not really spoken to me at all. I am just enjoying my football at St Johnstone, somewhere I am appreciated and liked.”
“When a big club comes in, you can’t say no,” said O’Halloran when asked if he regrets joining Rangers.
”Obviously, in my time there, I have not played a lot of football, and for me the main thing is I wasn’t really given a chance.
“A handful of games here and there, which is disappointing when I look back, but that’s football and I am just looking forward now.”
