Joey Barton hasn’t played for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers in coming up on two months.
Michael Mols has told The Glasgow Evening Times that he has never known a situation quite like what is happening with Joey Barton at Rangers.
Barton has not played for Rangers since the 5-1 defeat by Celtic on September 10 after being suspended by the club following a training-ground row with team-mate Andy Halliday.
The 34-year-old’s suspension was only expected to last three weeks but things have dragged on quite a bit since then.

The Guardian reported that the midfielder and his representatives spent two hours in a meeting with Rangers’ officials last week in an effort to clarify his situation, but he remains exiled.
At this juncture, Barton’s long-term future at Ibrox remains very unclear, and Mols, who spent five years with the Glasgow giants, says he has never before heard of a similar situation.
“I’ve never experienced such disruption but I know for sure at every club there is a bust up between players,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times.

“It’s all men together, it’s emotion running high and things like that can happen. But I’ve never experienced a player being suspended like this for as long without really knowing the situation. It’s really dragging on.”
Mark Warburton’s side have been up and down since Barton’s absence. They sit second in the Scottish Premiership at the moment, but the nine points separating them and Celtic – who have a game in hand – would suggest that winning the title is a bridge too far this season.
