The playmaker left Nottingham Forest for Bristol City this summer.
Michael Mancienne – Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne is hoping to go head-to-head with former Forest team-mate Jamie Paterson this weekend when the Reds face off against his Bristol City side – as he told the club’s official Twitter account earlier today.
Paterson was always considered a talented member of the Forest squad but he never managed to hold down a regular starting spot. After a good spell out on loan at Huddersfield Town last season the playmaker was given the chance to find more regular first-team football permanently, away from the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest’s Jamie Paterson dejected
In August he signed a three-year deal with the Robins and will now get a chance to face his former team at the weekend.
He has played four times for Lee Johnson’s men and will hope to add to that tally v Forest. One man who hopes he will is Mancienne.
He told a press conference today:
The versatile player is clearly set to relish the opportunity to go head-to-head with his old mate at Ashton Gate this weekend.
He may not get the chance, as he himself is fighting an injury problem, whilst Paterson is not a certain starter.
