The Dane has been heavily linked with a move to Spain recently.

Tottenham Hotspur’s worst fears are looking like potentially coming true this summer, as many of their big name players are linked with moves away from the club.

One such player is Christian Eriksen. The Dane has just had perhaps his best season yet in a Spurs shirt and is being linked with a move to Barcelona. The player himself fuelled the rumour when admitting to the press recently that he would be tempted with a move to the Nou Camp.

Now a Danish legend, who previously played for Barca, has had his say on the matter. Michael Laudrup, who spent five years at Barcelona as a player, is quoted by BT as stating:

“He has great vision and a talent for scoring goals. He might not be the fastest football player, but he thinks faster than others, and that makes him different. He is a type of player who fits well with today’s Barcelona team. Perhaps a change in the next season or the next turn will be ideal because he’s going to be even better, and he will certainly be able to do well [in Barcelona].

“It is clear that Eriksen has become a very important player for Tottenham and in the entire Premier League in general, but perhaps he could perform even more exciting things in Spain. He has the technical capacity to do it, and he will have a good chance of success. He is a player who invents opportunities for his teammates, and his performance is now very stable.”

The former Swansea City boss, who is now managing in Qatar, is not wrong by suggesting that the Danish midfield playmaker would fit in well at the Nou Camp.

Tottenham fans however will hope that an offer is not forthcoming. The club are already fearful over losing the likes of Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Danny Rose, whilst they seem resigned to the fact Kyle Walker will be heading to Premier League rivals Manchester City.

If Eriksen was to leave Tottenham, the club would demand a huge fee for his services, considering the length of his current deal in North London and his performances this term.

But most Spurs fans would rather just keep him then take the cash.
