Michael Kim has become a fan favourite on the PGA Tour in recent years, and after a strong 2025 season, he’s already looking ahead to what’s next.
Kim finished the year with a win at the French Open, capping off a campaign that saw him break into the top 40 and record four top-ten finishes on the PGA Tour.
With victories now on both the DP World and PGA Tours, he’s certainly positioned himself as one to watch in the coming season.
One reason for his growing popularity is his willingness to share thoughts and opinions with fans through social media.
During an appearance on The Pat Mayo Experience, Kim suggested there’s still more to come from him in 2026 if everything goes according to plan.
Michael Kim’s targets for the 2026 season
Kim, like many others in the United States, likely watched with frustration as Team Europe took another Ryder Cup win.
The next Ryder Cup is two years away, but the Presidents Cup will return in 2026, giving players another international stage to aim for.
Kim sees that event as one of two main goals for his upcoming season.
“It’s awesome, it’s been awesome but you know, golf and the PGA Tour does an awesome job of always having a new carrot dangling,” Kim explained.
“So like last year I wanted to be top 50 to play in the signature events for next year. But now after watching the US lose at the Ryder Cup, I really want to play and feel I’m in a spot with my game to actually contend to be on one of those teams. So next year, trying to make the Presidents Cup is a carrot there that I really want to make.”
Michael Kim’s 2025 PGA Tour season in numbers
For Michael Kim, the only thing missing from his 2025 campaign was a win on the PGA Tour to go along with his success on the DP World Tour.
He came closest at the WM Phoenix Open, finishing second, but there was plenty to like about his year overall.

Kim had previously been close to losing his tour card, so a 31st-place finish and eligibility for all signature events and most majors highlights just how much progress he’s made.

Looking ahead to 2026, Kim is definitely someone worth following. He’s shown he can compete at this level, and another win wouldn’t be a surprise.
