The future of LIV Golf and one of its biggest stars Bryson DeChambeau remains up in the air.

Concerns for such futures come after widespread reports that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) will end its financial support of LIV Golf.

And very worryingly, during his time at The Masters, DeChambeau met with organizations to discuss possible options if he were to leave the Saudi-backed tour.

Remarkably, his YouTube success could be used as leverage, with the latest rumour suggesting that DeChambeau is open to only filming content and playing in the four major championships.

Ian Poulter has shut down the DeChambeau exit rumour, with PGA Tour player Michael Kim now sharing his verdict.

Reacting to the idea that DeChambeau would only focus on majors and his YouTube venture, Kim commented on X: “I just have a hard time believing this.

“You can’t replace real competition reps.

“Breaking 50 with LeBron [James] isn’t the same as going against Scottie [Scheffler] at Hilton Head.

“Nice negotiation tactic but winning majors is his main goal and playing on the PGA Tour is the best way to get ready.”

Kim is a one-time winner on the PGA Tour, while DeChambeau boasts nine career wins, with his most recent arriving at the 2024 US Open.

He also lifted the US Open trophy in 2020, but decided to leave the PGA Tour in 2022 to join LIV Golf, where he currently captains Crushers GC.

Bryson DeChambeau’s recent history at major championships

For now, DeChambeau is very much a LIV Golf player, although he was forced to withdraw before the final round of LIV Golf Mexico City.

A wrist injury ruled the two-time major champion out of the final day at Club de Golf Chapultepec, where Jon Rahm clinched the title.

The Spaniard joins DeChambeau as the league’s biggest superstars, with the pair currently occupying the top two spots in the individual standings, having combined to win four of the six tournaments this season.

The American has achieved such success alongside a booming social media presence, boasting 2.67 million subscribers on YouTube.

DeChambeau also has 4.5 million followers on Instagram, where his bio reads: ‘Content Creator and Professional Golfer’.

He’s teamed up with various high-profile golfers and celebrities in recent times, enjoying particular success with his popular Break 50 series.

DeChambeau did, however, miss the cut at The Masters in his most recent major championship appearance, finishing his first two rounds on six-over.

It continues his very intriguing record on the biggest stage, with the LIV Golf star having also missed the cut at the US Open last year.

But he also produced three top 10 finishes in 2025, finishing T5 at The Masters, T2 at the PGA Championship and T10 at The Open Championship.
