West Ham should look to make Chris Smalling’s signing a priority this summer.
Everton continue to make headlines in the summer transfer window after completing double deals for Sando and Michael Keane on Monday.
While the Toffees were firm favourites to sign Sandro, a host of Premier League clubs, according to the Express – including Manchester United and Liverpool – were interested in Keane.
Therefore, signing Keane is a major coup for the club.

The move could help West Ham United, as it paves the way for them to sign Manchester United’s out-of-favour defender, Chris Smalling.
The Express reported last month that a trio of Premier League clubs – Everton, West Ham and Newcastle United – have shown a strong interest in signing the experienced Premier League defender.
However, with Everton now signing Keane, it looks highly unlikely that they will sign another top central defender this summer.
West Ham must use this window of opportunity to jump in quickly and secure the signing of the England international.
Smalling is not optimistic about his long-term future at Old Trafford and he could be sold this summer.
A player of his experience and caliber would add significant quality and depth to Slaven Bilic’s side. The Hammers should make his signing a priority this summer.
