Michael Keane has heaped huge praise on Everton striker Oumar Niasse
Everton defender Michael Keane has told the club’s official website that in-form striker Oumar Niasse is “a nightmare” to play against in training, as the Senegalese rediscovers his early season form.
The 27-year-old has been in exceptional form for Everton this season, scoring 11 goals in 20 league and cup appearances as well as turning provider on another four occasions.
He starred in the Toffees last outing, scoring a well-executed header before setting up teammate Tom Davies to score Everton’s third in their 3-1 win over Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.
His form at the moment is even keeping £27million January signing Cenk Tosun out of the side, and Keane believes that his effort and determination to impress our key factors in his improved performances this season.
“He never gives in and never stops running,” Keane said. “And he got the goal he deserved against Palace. He is a nightmare to play against – I know that from Finch Farm.”
Signed by Roberto Martinez for £13.5million from Lokomotiv Moscow, Niasse struggled to impress on Merseyside and was ostracised by Ronald Koeman before being loaned to Hull City where he found his shooting boots once again.
Now, in the void left by Romelu Lukaku, Niasse has shone for Everton and is likely to retain his place for the Toffees next outing against Watford next Saturday. The Toffees are not in action this weekend following their FA Cup loss to Liverpool.
