Michael Keane has not had the best spell since arriving at Everton in the summer.

Keane has endured a difficult time since moving to Merseyside. BBC Sport reported at the time of his move that the Toffees could ultimately end up spending £30 million on his signature – and for while, it appeared that he may not be able to vindicate the faith shown in him.

The centre-back struggled during the first few months of his time with the club, and has even, recently been linked by the Daily Mirror with a move away in the summer. However, there have been some much more positive signs of late, and Keane suggested that he had now turned a corner when asked if he is enjoying his best form since joining Everton.

“It does not help when the team loses [as at Watford] but I have been reasonably pleased with how I have been playing. I know I can still improve and I am working hard to do that.”
Despite Everton’s problematic season, they go into this weekend’s game with Burnley just three points off Sean Dyche’s men who currently occupy that seventh place position with 10 games to go.
And Sam Allardyce will surely be looking to players such as Keane to maintain their current form if they hope to finish seventh – which would arguably be a huge achievement after such an underwhelming season.
No team in the top-half of the table boasts a worst defensive record than Everton this term, so Keane and his teammates at the back will be looking to tighten things up in the coming weeks to give the side the best chance of clinching the ‘best of the rest’ title once again.
