Sunderland midfielder Ethan Robson has impressed on a loan spell with Grimsby Town.

Sunderland loaned out Robson to Grimsby at the start of the season, but that deal is set to expire in the new year.
If the Sunderland youngster does leave the Mariners it would be a major blow to Jolley’s side now, as he has turned into such a key player for them.
And Jolley admits that he is going to approach Jack Ross to try and agree an extension to the deal.
“With regards to Ethan, the deal is we have him until January,” Jolley said.
“I think it could work out like Elliot last season where if it’s appropriate at the time, we’ll have the conversation with Sunderland and Ethan and if it’s right for all parties we can maybe look to extend it.
“We’re not at that point yet, but the way Ethan is going, it may be that Sunderland see him as part of their team in the second half of the season. We just have to wait and see.”

Robson has had a fine season at Grimsby, and scored twice for his loan side in their last match.
Whether Sunderland will be open to leaving Robson with Grimsby for the entire season is up for debate though.
Sunderland fans have wanted Robson back at the Stadium of Light, as they feel he could offer some creativity to their squad which they have been lacking so far.
Grimsby are currently sat in seventh place in the League Two table.
