Oliver Burke has joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic on loan from West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window.

Celtic striker Michael Johnston has spoken highly of new signing Oliver Burke to The Scottish Sun.
Burke has joined Celtic on loan from West Bromwich Albion in the January transfer window until the end of the season.
Johnston, 19, has played with the 21-year-old winger for the Scotland youth teams, and the teenager striker has raved about the former Nottingham Forest man.
The Scotland Under-21 international has said that Burke can play as a striker.
Johnston told The Scottish Sun about Burke: “Oli is pretty athletic and can play in different areas.
“He’s seen as a wide player, but he can also play as a striker. I’ve seen him do that a couple of times and he is so quick and powerful.
“It’s always a good thing for young players to be at Celtic because you do get opportunities and you get chances to play and show yourself.”

Oliver Burke as a striker
Burke is a winger by trade, but the Scotland international’s ability to play as a striker does give Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers an option.
The Hoops do need a striker in the January transfer window, and the West Brom-owned 21-year-old could be deployed down the middle.
Of course, Burke is better off as a winger, but his versatility to lead the line does allow Rodgers an option in the second half of the season.
Celtic are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season and are also in the round of 32 of the Europa League.
