The Chelsea defender and Sheffield Wednesday’s 2018-19 Player of the Year will complete his move to Craven Cottage in January.

A number of Fulham fans have taken to Twitter to rejoice in the news that Chelsea defender Michael Hector is to join the Craven Cottage side on a permanent deal in January (official Blues website).
The 27-year-old has signed a two and a half year contract with the Championship side, with an option for a further year, and the transfer fee between the clubs is undisclosed, though The Sun says the player has moved in an £8million deal.
Hector joined Chelsea from Reading in a £4million deal on transfer deadline day in 2015 before being immediately loaned back out to the Royals for the 2015-16 campaign, but he never made a senior appearance for the Blues.
The Jamaica international spent the subsequent three seasons on loan away from Stamford Bridge, with Eintracht Frankfurt, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday.
Hector was particularly successful at the latter club, establishing himself as a fan favourite at Hillsborough and winning the Owls’ Player of the Season award last term (official SWFC website).
Here is some of the reaction from the Fulham fanbase on social media regarding the announcement:
Hector will spend the first half of the season training with Fulham, rather than Chelsea, but will be unable to play for them until the deal has officially gone through on 1 January.
