Michael Gray loves Leeds United fans.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Michael Gray has praised Leeds United fans.

The 43-year-old former defender had two loan spells at Elland Road in the years following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Fans of the West Yorkshire club are widely believed to be some of the best in England and they will surely make Elland Road something of a fortress again this season

In total, the Sunderland legend only managed 16 league matches for the Whites during his two spells, but it would appear as if the fanbase made a lasting impression on Gray who lauded the “absolutely incredible” supporters.

“Elland Road is one of the best places to play football. Those supporters are absolutely incredible,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.

United fans will need to get right behind Thomas Christiansen’s side this season as the Yorkshire outfit plot a return to the Premier League.

Under Garry Monk last term, they were phenomenal at Elland Road and, as a result, Leeds had one of the best home records in the Championship.

And it’s imperative that they are at their best again this time around. It would go a long, long way toward their hopes of finishing in the playoff spots.
