Sunderland have signed seven players this summer, but Michael Gray believes Simon Grayson will add to that figure.
Michael Gray has suggested to BBC Radio Leeds that Simon Grayson is still in the market to bolster Sunderland’s ranks before the month is out, after speaking to him this week.
The Black Cats have brought in seven players so far this summer – three of whom are only on loan – but they are yet to spend serious money, with James Vaughan and Jason Steele their most expensive acquisitions at £500,000 apiece.
Sunderland have £30 million in the bank following the sale of Jordan Pickford to Everton, combined with parachute payments after being relegated from the Premier League.

And although they are in debt, Grayson should, in theory, have a decent bit of money to spend should he want to as the transfer window draws to a close.
The former Leeds boss, who faces his former side at the Stadium of Light this evening, has picked up five points from a possible nine in the Championship so far.
It’s not outstanding, but it’s not poor either and Gray is enthused by what the 47-year-old is doing – and still could do, with regards to transfers.
Asked about Grayson’s start to life at Sunderland, Gray told BBC Radio Leeds: “He’s freshened it up and I don’t think he’s finished in the window. I think he’s going to try bring in one or two more, having spoke to him the other night.
“He’s started well. They needed a positive start and they got that, a couple of draws and a win. The players are playing for each other and we’ve not had that for such a long time.”
