Leeds United are aiming to win promotion to the Premier League.

Michael Duberry has told The League Paper that Leeds United will fare better than Queens Park Rangers did when they won promotion to the Premier League.

QPR won promotion from the Championship to the Premier League at the end of the 2010-11 season and got relegated at the end of the 2012-13 campaign.

Rangers clinched promotion back to the top flight of English football at the end of the 2013-14 campaign, but the London outfit went down to the second tier after just one season.

QPR are still in the Championship, and it is unlikely that they will finish in the playoffs this season.

As for Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are second in the Championship table at the moment with 67 points from 35 matches, just two points behind leaders Norwich City.

Former Leeds central defender Duberry believes that the Whites will fare better in the Premier League than QPR if they get promoted.

Duberry believes that Leeds will have a plan to cope in the Premier League if they get promoted from the Championship at the end of the season.

“I think the club would be smart about it,” Duberry told The League Paper. “We saw it with QPR a few years ago where they went up, didn’t have the right plan and came straight back down. But I don’t think Leeds would do that, I just don’t see it happening.”
