Is Scunthorpe United starlet Joey Dawson set to move to the Premier League with Unai Emery’s Arsenal?

Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Michael Dawson has jokingly warned his nephew Joey about joining Arsenal in the New Year, speaking to Alan Brazil on talkSPORT (15 October, 9am).
The Sun first reported over the weekend that The Gunners were keen to sign the teenage midfielder, who recently became the youngest debutant in Scunthorpe United’s history and has gone from strength to strength ever since.
Joey Dawson, son of one-time Hull left-back Andy, could now be about to follow in his uncle’s footsteps by moving to North London as a precocious youngster with the world at his feet.
But, after spending nine years at the heart of Spurs’ backline, Michael Dawson would understandably rather see Joey join the club wearing white rather than their red-clad rivals from just down the road.
“I saw that the other day and I said ‘you’re signing for the wrong side here’!” Dawson quipped.

“He’s done great. He’s some size, he’s good on the ball. He has to keep his head down and keep working and you never know (whether he could sign for Arsenal).”
Given that Unai Emery has been so keen to give youth a chance at Arsenal, making Joe Willock, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson a key part of his first-team plans in recent weeks, there are worse places than the Emirates for young Joey Dawson to learn his trade.
Even Michael would have to admit that.
