Michael Chopra has stated on Twitter that the Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are not going to buy Newcastle United.
The former Newcastle forward made the comments in response to suggestion on Twitter that PIF are still interested in taking over the Magpies.
The Shields Gazette has reported that recent activity of PCP Capital Partners’ Mehrdad Ghodoussi, husband of Amanda Staveley, suggests that takeover of the Magpies still is very much on the agenda.
The report has claimed that current Newcastle owner Mike Ashley as well as the consortium are ‘very interested’ in getting a deal done.
As reported by The Express in September, the Premier League officially rejected the £300 million bid from PIF to take over Newcastle.

Newcastle are doing well on the pitch at the moment and are going strong in the Premier League.
Steve Bruce’s side are ninth in the Premier League table with seven points from four matches.
The Magpies will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on Manchester United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League.
