Leeds United can move to the top of the Championship table if they beat QPR on Tuesday night.
Michael Brown aptly stated that it’s ‘never straightforward’ at Leeds United following their narrow 2-1 win over Bolton at the weekend.
There is no doubt that many Whites supporters will agree with their former player’s comments because it has been a tough ride for the Elland Road faithful in recent weeks.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side suffered a damaging defeat at home to current leaders Norwich City at the start of the month and they have since needed a last-minute equaliser and two one-goal margin victories to keep up their hopes of promotion.
Speaking on Weekend Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (24/02/2019 at 9:45 am), former midfielder Brown shared his thoughts on Leeds’ recent game.
“Leeds United did very, very well to come through a difficult one with Bolton,” Brown told talkSPORT. “It was all kicking off there at Elland Road. There were all sorts happening.
“They got the result and as you saw it’s never straightforward at Elland Road, it’s always interesting. It didn’t disappoint the supporters.”
In the game itself, Patrick Bamford opened the scoring from the penalty spot, while Ezgjan Alioski’s second-half goal cancelled out Mark Beevers equaliser, with Bolton manager Phil Parkison sent to the stands following a melee.
The heat in the kitchen will go up a notch once again when Leeds travel to London to take on Steve McClaren’s Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Tuesday night.
Three points for the Yorkshire club and they will move to the top of the Championship table in what could be a decisive week in the race for promotion.
After their trip to the capital, Leeds will host fourth-placed West Brom on Friday night in the league as victory could all but end the Baggies hopes of finishing in the automatic places.
