Michael Brown has claimed Leeds United are under more pressure than Sheffield United to win Saturday’s fixture at Elland Road.
Second-place Leeds currently hold a two-point lead over their Yorkshire rivals in the position directly below theirs.
And asked which of his former clubs will be feeling the most heat the most come 12:30, Brown told BBC West Yorkshire Sport: “For me, Leeds United.
“It’s been such a long time, they’re desperate the supporters to get back into the Premier League.
“I think Sheffield United supporters might be more realistic in regards to if the club was to be in the play-offs, that it’s a great season – another progression under Chris Wilder (the Blades manager).
“So I think they might be a little bit more composed, Sheffield United, were they not to win it because of the amount of time it’s taken to get back to the Premier League”
Leeds dropped out of the top flight in 2004 – three years before the Blades’ one-season stint there came to an end.
Since then both clubs have had spells in League One, from which Wilder’s side only returned six years later in 2017.
A win for the hosts will send them back to the top of the Championship for two-and-a-half hours at least, with leaders Norwich City playing Rotherham United at the New York Stadium later on Saturday afternoon.
