Mateusz Klich played in Leeds United’s 1-0 win against Derby County at the weekend.
Klich was in action for Leeds in the first leg of their Championship playoff semi-final tie against Derby away from home at the Pride Park Stadium on Saturday evening.
At one point in the match, the 28-year-old Poland international midfielder appeared to be headbutt Derby County’s Fikayo Tomori.
The former FC Twente star was shown only a yellow card, and former Leeds midfielder Brown believes that Klich was lucky to stay on the pitch.
Brown said about Klich on the EFL on Quest show on Quest (9:10pm, May 11, 2019): “He has made that decision in the heat of the moment. He has got a yellow card, but he is probably a little bit fortunate.”
Brown added about goalscorer Kemar Roofe: “He has been injured. He has scored 15 goals, and to come back, he needs a couple of games. No wonder he has been a little bit rusty.”
Second leg
The second leg of the tie is at Elland Road on Wednesday evening, and Leeds will be confident of winning the match and getting the job done.
With a strong and passionate crowd behind them, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be confident of scoring at leats twice.
If Leeds win against Derby, then they will face either Aston Villa or West Bromwich Albion in the playoff final for a place in the Premier League next season.
