Leeds United and Newcastle United may be regretting not listening to Michael Bridges now.

Michael Bridges has suggested that he told Leeds United to sign Aaron Mooy three years ago, while he was still playing Australian football.

Bridges spotted Mooy’s talent at an early age, and he was keen to tip both Leeds and Newcastle United, two of his former clubs, off about the midfielder.

However, both Leeds and Newcastle ignored Bridges’ advice – with Mooy sticking around playing A League football for some time.

Eventually Mooy’s talent was spotted by Manchester City, who brought the midfielder to England.

City immediately loaned Mooy out upon signing him, and he has thrived on a temporary spell with Huddersfield Town.

Mooy has been one of the best players in the Championship this season.

And his form has now seen Newcastle make a bid to sign Mooy (The World Game).

Leeds, meanwhile, are likely to look on at what might have been.

The Elland Road club simply can’t afford Mooy now, with City valuing the midfielder at £10 million (The World Game).
