Should Sunderland appoint Southend United boss Phil Brown as their new manager?

Former Leeds United star Michael Bridges has suggested on social networking site Twitter that Sunderland should not appoint Phil Brown as their manager.
Sunderland are on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Simon Grayson.
Grayson, who was appointed as the Sunderland boss in the summer of 2017 following the exit of David Moyes at the end of the 2016-17 campaign, was recently dismissed due to the team’s disappointing results and performances the season.

Relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2016-17 campaign, the Black Cats are in the Championship bottom three at the moment.
Brown is in charge of Southend United in League One at the moment, but the 58-year-old recently told The Southend Echo that he would be interested in managing Sunderland as he is a fan of the Black Cats.
Bridges started his professional club football career at Sunderland, and the 39-year-old is against Brown taking over at the Stadium of Light.
