Rangers are reportedly looking to bring Liverpool winger Ryan Kent to Ibrox.

Steven Gerrard is unveiled as the new manager of Rangers football Club at Ibrox Stadium on May 4, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers may have already brought in two new faces this summer, but continue to be linked with a whole host of signings to boost Steven Gerrard’s squad at Ibrox.

The Gers have brought in goalkeeper Allan McGregor and midfielder Scott Arfield on pre-contract agreements from Hull City and Burnley respectively, but Gerrard needs much, much more quality to chase down Celtic.

Gerrard’s ties to Liverpool mean a host of Reds talents have been linked with moves to Ibrox, as The Express claimed last week that Gerrard has his eye on loan deals for Ben Woodburn, Harry Wilson, Ryan Kent and Dominic Solanke.

Woodburn, Wilson and Solanke have caught the attention of Rangers fans, but a move for Kent has been met with a little more questioning, having failed to really push towards the Liverpool first team.

The 21-year-old winger has been on the books with the Reds since 2003, but has made just the one first-team appearance for the club having spent time out on loan with Coventry City, Barnsley, Freiburg and Bristol City.

This past season was some of a nightmare campaign for Kent, as he was farmed out on loan to Freiburg but was sent back in January having barely played, but then suffered a similar fate at Bristol City.

It now looks like Kent will struggle to fulfil his potential with the Reds given that he is 22 later this year, but one Rangers-bound coach summed up why the Gers may just be interested in him.

Former Liverpool coach Michael Beale – who will be a part of Gerrard’s Rangers staff according to the Liverpool Echotold Sky Sports in 2017 that he felt Kent could play for England if he developed correctly, and Rangers may just feel that they can work with Kent’s untapped potential with a move this summer.

There are a lot of exciting young players within the Liverpool first team squad at the moment, such as Kevin Stewart, Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo. There’s also Ryan Kent on loan at Barnsley who is fantastic and could literally – if he manages to get his decision making right – go on to be a top player in the Premier League for Liverpool, England and beyond.
