Glasgow Rangers are in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup as Steven Gerrard sets his sights on bringing silverware back to Ibrox this term.

Glasgow Rangers coach Michael Beale has taken to Twitter with his verdict on the Ibrox side’s progress to the Scottish League Cup semi-finals plus a congratulatory message for Gers midfielder Glen Kamara.
The Finland international’s curling fifth-minute strike, with the help of a deflection off the knee of the on-rushing Nicky Devlin, was enough to earn Steven Gerrard’s side a battling victory against their Scottish Premiership rivals on their home turf.
Gerrard named a very strong side in the tie rather than rest key players, testament to the Ibrox boss taking the competition very seriously, and the Light Blues had a tough night against a physical Livi side, with Ryan Jack and Joe Aribo receiving blows to the head and Connor Goldson the victim of a late challenge by Lyndon Dykes.
Nonetheless, Rangers completed the job and are now in the final four, with Hearts standing between them and a place in the final, where the winner of the tie will face either Hibernian on Celtic.
Here is Beale’s assessment of the match and Kamara (plus a correction after it was pointed out by numerous Bears that it was the Finn’s second Rangers goal):
Up next for Rangers is Saturday’s Scottish Premiership meeting with Aberdeen at Ibrox.
