Brandon Barker of Rangers
Rangers coach Michael Beale has expressed his delight on Twitter at Brandon Barker scoring for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox today.
The Gers bounced back from their defeat to Celtic at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby before the two-week international break with a 3-1 win against Livingston.
Barker was among the goalscorers, as the 22-year-old winger found the net in the 79th minute.
The former Manchester City prospect did not start the match, but he came on as a substitute in the 41st minute when fellow winger Ryan Kent got injured.
Rangers coach Beale was pleased with Barker’s goal and has expressed his delight for him on Twitter.
Important player
Rangers do have a lot of wingers, and Barker will have been a good option on the substitutes’ bench, but the injury to Kent could open the door for him.
It remains to be seen the extent of the injury suffered by the former Liverpool winger, but if he is on the sidelines for a considerable amount of time, with Jordan Jones also injured, Barker could be pushed in action, and he must make the most of the chances he would get.
