Michael Beale has told his latest press conference that Rangers striker Antonio Colak will not be available for Friday’s trip – despite previously saying the Ibrox goalscorer would be fit to play. Colak is on the sidelines with a calf problem.
Colak, 29, has made an excellent start to life at Rangers. The German-born striker has scored an impressive 14 goals in 24 appearances for Rangers. However, he is yet to feature under Beale – with a niggling calf injury preventing him.
Alfredo Morelos has started instead of Colak. The Colombian got the winner in a 3-2 win over Hibernian at Ibrox, but failed to net against Aberdeen – earning criticism from Kris Boyd. Colak was expected to back for Friday’s outing.
However, Beale was asked of Colak’s availability and said the striker would not be travelling to Ross County. He said that the striker if just not ready. But hopes Colak will be available for selection on the 28th against Motherwell.

“He’s had a slight calf problem and he’s not ready. We thought he would be, but he’s not ready. He will be ready for the 28th,” Rangers manager Beale said during Thursday’s press conference ahead of Ross County, on Rangers TV.
Beale: Rangers striker Colak will not be available on Friday at Ross County
Having come from behind to beat Hibernian and Aberdeen, Rangers will be hoping they can do it in an easier fashion on Friday. With all due respect to Ross County, they should find it easier against Malky Mackay’s side in Dingwall.
County are likely to play with a low block. But Rangers will take confidence in that they have won 12 of their last 13 games against them. With or without Colak, Rangers should get the job done on Friday evening. A third win for Beale.
