Meanwhile, Rangers manager Gerrard has revealed to The Scottish Sun that he wanted to take off Tavernier after the Gers scored their third goal of the match against St. Johnstone in the 52nd minute.
The 26-year-old former Newcastle United right-back was substituted in the 56th minute due to a knock.
Rangers manager Gerrard has given an update on the situation of the former Wigan Athletic star, and has admitted that he has overused him in certain situations.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “He says he’s fine and could have carried on but there’s a little bit of tightness. I’ve over used James in certain situations.
“As soon as the third goal went in I wanted to get him off. I don’t think it’s serious. He would be fine on Wednesday but I have to decide if I do it or not.”
The Liverpool manager added: “We know what he can do in the final third – he’s the best attacking right-back in the league.”
Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 11 points from six matches, five points behind leaders Heart of Midlothian.
