Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter has endured a difficult time at Ibrox.

Whilst much of the focus is on who Steven Gerrard could bring to Rangers, one player will be excited about the prospect of reuniting with him at Ibrox.

The Gers took a major gamble to bring in Gerrard, and the move should be a real boost for his former Liverpool teammate Jordan Rossiter, who has endured a miserable spell at Ibrox.

Rossiter, 21, left Liverpool for Rangers in 2016, but has played just 11 first-team games for the Gers having endured an injury hell.

To get him back on track, Rossiter needs a manager who trusts in him, and whilst Gerrard may well be that man, another Gers-bound coach could be ideal for his development.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool coach Michael Beale will be heading to Ibrox alongside Gerrard, and he had some major words of praise for Rossiter in a 2017 interview with Sky Sports.

Beale, speaking after Rossiter’s disappointing first season at Ibrox, stated that he thinks Rossiter has a ‘unique’ mentality and will have a very good career going forward, predicting huge success for the youngster.

“Rossiter is an outstanding young player, he just needs a bit of time,” said Beale. “I was expecting a big year for him at Rangers but for whatever reason – and he’s had injuries – it hasn’t happened for him. But his mentality is unique, in terms of the type of boy he is, the drive he has, the ambition. I expect Jordan to come back and have a very good career,” he added.

It remains to be seen whether Rossiter can get back on track, but with Gerrard and Beale coaching him, it may be the perfect environment for Rossiter to thrive.
