Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers signed the talented midfielder last summer.

Former Liverpool academy coach Michael Beale has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Jordan Rossiter will be remembered as an “outstanding bit of business” by Rangers.

The 20-year-old joined Rangers last summer for a nominal fee after then-manager Mark Warburton capitalised on a cross-border loophole.

However, Rossiter, earning around £10,000-a-week, has so far failed to leave his mark on the Ibrox side.

This is undoubtedly due to injury as the talented midfielder managed only four Scottish Premiership appearances last season, the last of which came in August.

It has been a year to forget for the former Liverpool youth, but Beale, who worked with the youngster at Melwood, claims that his former player has the ability to enjoy an excellent career with Rangers.

“You have to remember that he is just 20 and has come off a difficult year. He has his career in front of him and I expect him to go on and be an excellent player for Rangers,” Beale, now based in Brazil, told The Glasgow Evening Times.

“When you consider how much they had to pay to bring him to the club, it will end up being an outstanding bit of business for Rangers.”

The future is looking a tad bit brighter for Rossiter in Glasgow.

Having brushed off that injury, the youngster is now in contention for first XI spots under manager Pedro Caixinha – who replaced Warburton in March – and impressed in the League Cup rout over Dunfermline.
